Even though it’s almost Halloween, most of South Texas is still experiencing warm 80 degree weather instead of the cool crisp days that the rest of the country is enjoying. But cooler weather will be here soon enough, and so will some changes in pest behavior. Cockroaches are active throughout the year, but many times look to come indoors when we start getting a few cold snaps.  Other pest to watch for are rodents and wildlife.  Animals look for attics to provide a warm and dry place to build that perfect nest.  As you can see, pest control is a year round effort.

Before the temperature begins to drop, you can take some steps to protect your home from unwanted pests. Inspect your home for pest entry points. Caulking cracks and sealing doorways is a good way to help secure your home from invading cockroaches, and repairing any holes in your attic is a must to keeping rodents and wildlife out of your attic. Pay close attention to the eves and soffits of a gable style roof to see if there is any gnawing or clawing done by a critter wanting in the attic.
